So I'm jumping back to a topic that I mention every so often...cleaning. In this case though, I'm specifically talking about decluttering my room, which is distinctly different.

On my About Me page, I talked about healing my whole self and the reasons why I want and need to do this. I think that the body, mind and soul are all connected, and in order to become healthier, I need to work on all three, not just one. Already I have seen the effects as I've worked to make my body healthier. In certain ways, that has also gone a ways towards healing my mind and soul. I have also focused a bit on these other two, but it is not as straightforward as obtaining a fit body, and a more positive body-image.

I wanted to take a lot of time with this post because I wanted to offer explanations for some of my food choices and my thoughts on eating. Writing it out took time because I have never put this into words in any form, so I wanted to make sure it made sense and was informative at the same time. I'm not sure I actually succeeded though, so you'll just have to bear with me.
So officially weighing in again. It has been 8 weeks, close to a total of 2 months since I started keeping track.. This has been the longest period of exercise and eating properly that I have ever managed and I see no reason to stop now. I feel great and I think that my weight is in a good place.

Stay motivated, we're more than halfway through January!! So, it took me a couple weeks to get back on track, but I feel like I am officially there. I've been excited to hit the gym for the past 4 days in a row and my postponed weigh-in is going to take place tomorrow!

Posting has been a bit slow for me lately as I get readjusted to my schedule now that vacations have ended. Yes, it's taken two weeks of readjustment, but I'm getting there. Recent activity in my social life, while a definite good thing(!), has contributed to the delay in posting.

So it is officially the end of the 7th week that I have been exercising and eating better. When I look at the number 7, it doesn't seem that big, but when I look at the difference I have made in my own life, it tells me more than any number. Always remember that non-scale victories are sometimes more telling than the number you see on the scale.

Since I work very long days, I have to be sure to pack enough food for the entire day. On my busiest days I go from 8am until 12am, a full 16 hours, not counting my travel time. Sometimes I only work until 6 pm, and weekends I sometimes only go into work at 6 pm. Either way, I need to make sure that I have enough meals covered to survive my day.

Happy New Year everybody! I hope your evenings were all better than mine. I spent New Years Eve at work unfortunately. I arrived home in time to watch the ball drop, but my chance at having a fun evening was kind of shot at that point. Oh well, there's always next year...
